Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has begun the pre-season training in a bid to return to full fitness prior to the start of the new season.
It has been reported in the last few days that Nemanja Vidic will be returning to the pre-season training much earlier than expected so that he will be able to start the season in the best possible manner. The 30-year-old defender suffered a long-term injury in the middle of the last campaign. The injury suffered in a match against FC Basel in the Champions League proved more fatal for the player.
There are also reports that this injury could force Nemanja Vidic to retire from playing football. Further, the Serbian defender has proved the strength he has within himself by returning to playing football much earlier than expected. One of the main reasons for Manchester United finishing the last season without any trophy in their hands was the absence of Nemanja Vidic. It was a disastrous season for Manchester United in many ways after they failed to win a trophy, while also they were knocked out of the European competition at very early stages. This is likely to impact the club in terms of finances this season.
As a result of not being able to compete in the latter stages of the European competition, Manchester United were not able to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City when it comes to signing Eden Hazard from Lille. Ultimately, the Belgian midfielder signed for Chelsea after agreeing a contract worth around £ 170,000 per week. Manchester United then turned their attention towards a much cheaper alternative in the form of £ 12 million signing from Borussia Dortmund –Kagawa. Nemanja Vidic will also be hoping to make his international return for the World Cup qualifiers.
