Nemanja Vidic appears to be on the verge of an exit from Inter Milan after reportedly falling out with manager Roberto Mancini.
The Serbian defender only joined the Italian outfit in the summer after leading Manchester United on a free transfer. During his time at the Premier League outfit, Vidic became recognised as one of the best defenders in the world. His performances – even during his final few years at United – did drop but he was still seen as a top defender nonetheless. It is frequently reported that Vidic could engineer a move back to Old Trafford in the summer.
This is due to a fallout with Mancini, who was appointed as the replacement for Walter Mazzarri a few months ago. The former Manchester City boss is not someone known to have a great relationship with his players. It was a frequent source of issue at his previous clubs like City. It appears to be more of the same, as Vidic is the latest one to be affected. The player’s agent, though, has revealed that there is no truth in the rumours of a rift between Vidic and Mancini. Vidic was recently left on the bench for the 2-2 draw with Napoli. He has so far made 19 appearances for the Italian club this season.
“They are just lies. All I can say is that Inter was our priority and [interest from other clubs] is not important right now. He’s happy, I’d say. Inter are a big club and every player is happy to wear a Nerazzurri shirt, but I’m not a magician to know what will happen in the future,” said Vidic’s agent, Silvano Martina. After making a poor start to his life in Italian football, Vidic has come up with impressive performances especially against the likes of Cagliari and Genoa.
