Former Manchester United defender NemanjaVidic has revealed that he might have joined Liverpool before signing for the Red Devils.
At that time Liverpool was managed by Rafael Benitez and the latter called NemanjaVidic for a potential move to the club.
NemanjaVidic said that his English was poor at that time, and he had problems communicating with the Spanish manager. He said that if he had a better understanding of English,he might have made the move to Liverpool.
Just after that, it was Alex Ferguson who contacted him and wanted him to come to Manchester United. The Scottish manager told the defender that he has watched him play in the match against France and that he is interested in bringing him to Old Trafford. NemanjaVidic said that Manchester United was professional in what they did and that all the transfer dealings were done within 2 days, and this is what convinced him to move to Old Trafford.
Vidic joined Manchester United in 2006 and established himself as a valuable member of the team. Indeed he is arguably one of the best defenders that have ever played for Manchester United during the past seasons. He has managed to make more than 300 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 21 goals during the process. NemanjaVidic has won several trophies with Manchester United among which 5 Premier League titles, 3 League Cups, and one Champions League.
At the moment the former Manchester United player said that he wants to spend some time with his family and that he is interested in making the move into management at the right moment. However, he first wants to learn his trade by working alongside a reputed manager before trying to manage a club on his own.
